Often mistaken as a city, Caernarfon is in fact a town. Caernarfon is most famous for its historical castle which is one of the oldest in Wales and the UK. The town itself was a walled town overlooking the Menai Strait. Although the ward is called Canol Tref Caernarfon, the ward also covers the area on the west side of the River Seiont.
